We build software with a pulse.
stackwith.me is Joel Ryan's one-person software workshop: working browser projects, an explicitly labelled agent-interface showcase, and practical engineering notes that explain the implementation and its limits.
01 / WHO
Joel Ryan. One builder. No fictional team.
Joel Ryan develops and maintains stackwith.me from India, using AI assistance for code and writing. The domain is a personal software workshop rather than an agency or venture-backed product company. Stackime, Deep Signal, Signal Strike, and the site itself are working browser projects; AXON is an explicitly labelled product-interface study. Reach him at hello@stackwith.me.
That distinction matters. A working interaction is described as working. A proposed agent capability is described as a design target. The field notes point to implementation details, trade-offs, and limits. The editorial method and correction notes explain how claims are sourced and how AI assistance is used.
02 / WHAT WE MAKE
03 / ORIGIN
It started at 3:14 a.m.
AXON began as a design question: what would an automation product look like if its interface treated auditability as the central feature rather than a settings-page afterthought? The 3:14 a.m. framing is a narrative device for that question, not a claim about a deployed AXON incident.
The showcase turns the idea into an inspectable interface: sense, reason, act, and explain. The page demonstrates the visual system, the interaction design, and a simulated trace. It does not provide the autonomous-agent backend depicted by the concept, and nothing on it is for sale.
04 / PRINCIPLES
- P·01
Autonomy needs an audit trail.
An agent you can't inspect is a liability, not a teammate. AXON's interface study makes a reasoning trace the primary object.READ THE DESIGN NOTE →
- P·02
Guardrails are a feature, not friction.
Scoped permissions and human approval gates are design requirements for any automation entrusted with consequential actions.READ THE DESIGN NOTE →
- P·03
Latency is a moral issue.
Latency budgets should be explicit and measured in a real implementation. AXON uses a sub-40ms hand-off as a design target, not a production benchmark.READ THE DESIGN NOTE →

Marketing at product tolerance.
The numbers on our pages are design targets we hold ourselves to — never inflated.PROOF: READ THE DATASHEET →
05 / SAY HELLO
Tell Joel what
you are building.
Questions about a field note, browser graphics, testing, or the design decisions behind these projects are welcome.
